The character of Donegal Tweed

Donegal Tweed is recognizable by the presence of small flecks and fragments of colored fiber distributed throughout the yarn. These irregular points, known as neps, break the uniformity of the base and create a rich, tactile surface that is always slightly unique.

It is precisely this irregularity that makes the fabric so distinctive. From a distance, the color appears solid and deep; viewed up close, however, numerous chromatic variations emerge, adding movement and three-dimensionality to the wool.
